At the Dam

We took a walk to the dam today to see how it looked.  The stairs can't be reached, as water is RUSHING past them.  The roar of the water is loud!  We could hear it long before we reached the dam.

Looking back, you see where the water had swept over everything. Lots of the brush is lying down, or has debris wrapped around it, from when it was in the water.

Not a small creek anymore

This is our little creek in Magrath.  It leads down to the fish pond, and past the dam where gramps likes to come fish.

Here is where the water crosses under the road.  The water is normally more of a trickle, that flows between these trees and bushes... not around them.

Just last month, we walked down and visited this place with the holthes.  All the kids sat on this thick branch, and everyone complained it was too high, (as it was Moms head height...now it isnt possible to even get to it, and would risk being swept down stream.



Next is the area where it is usually very shallow, and the kids play in the water, while parents watch from the bridge.  (What bridge you ask?)

This is the metal bridge that has swept downstream, along with a picnic table.

This is not a little creek anymore!
