Sarah won a writing contest

Sarah come home with her prize.  Two tickets, drinks and popcorn at the movie theater in Lethbridge.  She was shocked but excited she won.  She submitted her story as an assignment for language arts.
We will publish the story on the blog later once we receive it back.
Years ago Sarah would throw he pencil and tip her chair if I asked her to write....we worked her up slowly homeschooling, only writing when she was ready, slowing her all the time and considerations she needed...and now she wins for her amazing stories.   How far things have
Changed.

Breakfast surprise

Us kids were home alone least night while mom and dad helped with the high school play.  Dad was running lights and mom interpreted.  After the show everything had to be stripped down and the gym back to normal before mom and dad left.  It brought back lots of old memories for them, and it'd was fun for them.   because they were returning home after 1:00am, we kids took the time to plan a great breakfast surprise.

At 6:30 we got up to prepare.  We toasted the bread, made slushies and cleared the table.

The boys dressed in our home made waiter outfits, then we woke mom and dad up.

We insisted they come out to the table for our breakfast surprise.  We served toast, strawberry slushies, and the jello and carrot cake with icing we made for them last night.

They loved it, but were so tired they only ate part of it and put the rest in the fridge for later then went back to bed.

It was a great breakfast surprise they said.
