Kettle Point

We were invited to Uncle Shawn and Alicia's cottage at Kettle Point.

We learned that Kettles were large perfectly round rocks, and are found along the coast on Lake Huron. They are buried in layers on slate.

Here is a few pictures of the kids sitting on some. they are even seen sticking up from the water.

The puzzle is how they are formed. One kettle was split open, and we could see circular rings of colour, and lines that go from the outside into the center. It is amazing, and something we want to learn more about.
