We love a parade!

Catching candy and watching the parade is the one of the best parts of Magrath Days!
Sarah waves to everyone, and hopes to catch so candy.
The mini horse stopped in the middle of the parade, so we could go up and pat it. It was very soft, and beautiful!
At the end, the Magrath Watertrucks turn on their jets and soak the crowd. On such a hot day, we were all excited and standing on the road, waiting for the cold water to hit us. (It ran out of water just before it reaching us!!!)

Dragon Fly is stuck!

At a friends house the girls discover a traped dragonfly, and daddy takes its picture... It is one BIG dragonfly!

BIG FIRE!

At the end of the evening they light a huge fire. If you look close you can see a person beside the fire! This is one BIG fire!!

Fireworks

The kids all laid down to see the fireworks. It was a huge display! (Courtney, Dessana)
(Nicole)
This is Kennys first time to really enjoy the fireworks, he was very excited and enjoyed the whole day! Adrian is reaching up and pointing at the fireworks too! Cool colours, and lots of noise!! (Kenny, Dad, Adrian)
The fire was lit and everyone stands far back from the heat. It towers over everyones heads, and only a few brave people will step forward into the heat for a minute or two, then will step back out of the searing heat. A firetruck is parked close by, and one fireman (Darcy Holthe) is responsible for the fire for the night. THIS IS ONE BIG FIRE!!! and their is a fire ban in place in the area due to the dry conditions.
So, if the fire department sets the fire, it is allowed??

The Rat Prince

Once upon a time, a princess pony was running in the field when her crown fell in to a prairie dog hole.
She cried and cried until a rat come and asked "Whats wrong?".
"My crown fell into the prairie dogs hole."
The rat said "I will get your crown, if you eat and sleep with me."
The princes said "Yes"
So the rat got the crown.
The princes didn't wont to but she knew that she must let the rat stay with her.
The pony didn't eat her apples so the rat ate them alone.
She didn't want to sleep in her bed in the corner of the stable, so the rat slept alone.
But soon she got used to it.
One morning then she woke up, and a prince was there. She knew it was the rat.
They lived happily ever after.

Janeys Birthday

Janeys Birthday came around, and this is the first year we have had to celebrate it with her. Mommy baked little tarts and we all gave her some fancy soap, it was not a very big party, but hopefully enough to feel like part of the family!

Mommy is going for it!

Mommy has been training for next years Magrath Triathlon. A friend of hers, Colleen Barton and her have been swimming, biking, and starting running, to prepare for next year.

BUT..... they have both decided to go for a smaller race this year....

If you look around the links, you can see what she is getting into for Aug 18. this year. The FortMacleod SPRINT is what she is doing. It is a 500m (1/2 km swim) in a ppol, then a 15 km bike ride up gentle slopes, and against the west wind, till she turns around and glides quickly home. Then comes a 5 km run.

Daddy is so proud of mommy and what she is trying to do, that he has bought her a new bike! Mommy was very surprised, but excited. It was 1/2 price and is a 21 speed, aluminum frame bike for racing!

Surprise!

Daddy's Picture is in the paper!

Wondering where Dad is?? Click on the newspaper article, for a close up view, and look in the very bottom right hand side. See it..... There it is....Photos courtesy of Ken Lynch.

Dad took these pictures while on the ward campout and the newspaper used them! Good for you dad!

If you look close, In the top picture Sarah and Kenny are together sliding down the side, and in the bottom picture Mommy is standing in black in front of everyone, telling them what to do. (Shes good at that!)

Congrats Dad... you take good pictures!

Kenny finished dinner while daddy stood on the bench and took pictures.

Adrain hung out with Aunt Janey for a little bit.

Another event, the teams put ice water into cups while blindfolded, and on their partners head.

Uncle James and Janey have a good laugh at all the fun!

Ward Campout so much fun!

We went to our ward campout and stayed the night. Here is our big four room tent.

Mommy planned a Fear Factor Event for the ward to do after dinner. It was sooo much fun!

We had teams (some were Familys) that cracked eggs on their teeth or body parts, and passed the raw egg down to the end of the line.

Auntie Mandy had the hard task of keeping score.

Even Uncle James was involved, and tried hard to blow a bubble with home really HOT gum!
