Saint George
by Nicole Lynch
Long ago when knights lived in the land,
the was one knight that was different than the
rest. The people there said he was noble. The people called him Saint George because he drove away all the wild animals. Now children can play in the woods without being afraid.

 I Don't Want a Well!

“I simply refuse to have a well!” Ma sadly exclaimed. “It’s just not worth it.  Not if it means you have to run such risks.” Then she turned around and raced back into the house.
She said that because Mr. Scott had breathed some gas that stays deep in the ground. It’s mostly found in the bottom of wells because it’s heavier than air. You can't see it, or smell it, or breathe it, if you expect to live much longer. Pa had chosen to go down into the gas to tie Mr. Scott to the coarse rope; they were going to tie it into a bucket for hauling water with. They were using it to lower themselves into the well and for hauling things like their lunches and tools down to them so they wouldn't have to stop laboring.  It was now coated with mud and dirt whereas, when it was new, it was a bright and brilliant white. Pa went down and tied up Mr. Scott so he could be pulled up. He called Ma to help him.
Lou Lou is silly and she runs away a lot Missy barks at her when she comes home and when I play my guitar she almost always digs her nose in the sound hole and if you try to walk her she will pull you down the street she is always trying to play

HELP YOUR SELF
( The story of Hercules and the Wagoner )

Once upon a time, an old wagoner in Greece was driving slowly and carefully along with a great big load of wheat, when the wagon got stuck in a puddle of mud it was going through. The horses pulled and pulled, but the wagon wouldn't budge. The wagoner called for Hercules to come and help him, then he heard a voice it startled him he turned around to find Hercules, standing right beside him. Hercules said, “Stop being so lazy! try the best you can to push the wagon out of the muck. After you have tried your hardest, then you can call me. If you haven't gotten it out already.” So saying, he disappeared leaving a puff of smoke, the wagoner, and his horses.

Heaven helps those who helps themselves.
