Daddy home for the Weekend

Daddy surprised the kids Friday morning. He had arrived home in the middle of the night, and was still in bed when Mommy woke up the kids and started breakfast.

She pretended she was too busy and didn't hear Courtney ask "Why isn't Daddy home?" and just kept everyone focused on their morning routines.

Mommy was even more surprised that no one noticed Daddy's van in the driveway when she opened the front curtains.

Then, Adrian was in need of baby wipes. Mommy asked Courtney to grab them out of her room, and still no one noticed the extra body sleeping in the bed.

Breakfast was ready, and Mommy called everyone to the table to eat. Everyone sat down, and before mommy could put the dishes out, Daddy came out of the bedroom. He said "Wow, it smells really good out here!, then he too sat down at the table. Everyone sat staring (like a deer in headlights) for a moment, then jumped into action.

They screamed for joy, jumped up and all reached him at the same time.

(Can you see him in there??) I think he was missed!!

As part of the moring routine, Nicole washes the kitchen counter. Isn't she growing!

60! 60! 60! Big Birthday 60! 60! 60!

Nana Moore celebrated her birthday with friends and family on Wednesday evening.

She was so surprised when her son from Ontario showed up as an extra surprise!

Cake, presents and being with family, and no embarrassing gifts or parties! How much better can a 60th birthday get

Sorry, Did I say 60 again??

Grandpa Moore's home away from home

Grandpa Moore was proud to show off their newest purchase. It is 27 years old, but is in great shape. It has a large bed ontop of the cab, a couch that folds into a bed at the back, and a table (with seatbelts) that also folds down. It even has a small shower!

Happy Travels!

Getting back into the Routine

With the summer coming to a close Mommy is starting to put us to bed earlier, and waking us up in the morning.

She also says we have to do chores now, and that we have had the summer off. We don't agree, we think we worked lots this summer!

We also have come to a compromise with our bedrooms. Mommy will buy orange garbage bags (so the are different then the normal trash bags) and we will empty our room into them. then we will go the the bags one by one and find a place for everything. We even thought that we will just store the bags until our beds are made, then bring everything into our new room, and its new places.

Hopefully this will work!

Taking home Mattresses!

Mommy was playing with Daddy's Blackberry in the van and took some silly pictures of Daddy.

She had the camera out to take pictures of the mattresses we bought for the girls new loft beds.

We found a really good deal. But still had to get them home. We tied each one individually onto the top of the van, stacked on top of each other. But as we were driving home the front ends still fly up.

Mommy snapped a few pictures using the blackberry by looking through the passenger side mirror.

You can see the ends sticking up off the roof.

Adrain can use the Potty!

Adrian has been showing signs of ready for potty training, but after several days of trying, and not one single success, it was time to put diapers back on.

Today at dinner Adrian said he again wanted to go on the potty. Off he ran, and surprise! For the first time Adrian did something in the potty for the first time!

Hurray!

It was celebrated with stickers, and lots of praise! He even got to flush the toilet.

Maybe we are headed in the right direction after all!

Snack and Pop Machines

We purchased these snack and pop machines way back in April, but we've never posted their pictures.

Every thursday, all us kids pile into the van, along with a huge amount of pop, chips, chocolate, and treats. We then spend the morning refilling our honour vending fridges, and snack baskets, as well as our vending machines you see here.

It is alot of work, but all of us kids usually help load up the van, pack the bag to take into the business, shop for new supplies, and also unload the van. Mommy usually counts the money herself. She says its easier that way.

Looking good?

We are building Loft Beds!

We decided to build new beds for the girls room. Everyone went to work Saturday trying to make the first of three beds.

Daddy cut and measured, Mommy helped daddy, and also sanded. All the kids also helped sand at one point or another.

Despite the late nights, and the hard work everyone put, we only cut out, and drilled everything for one bed.

This week while Daddy is in Calgary, the rest of us will paint all the pieces. Hopefully we will be able to assemble it this weekend, and start on cutting, drilling and sanding the next two loft beds..

Lost: Puppy

We have made it a habit to go for a walk everyday to the post office, then across the two blocks to the library, and home. All of the kids have been enjoying the walk as well as Missy.

The other day, Sarah brought her puppy "Spot" with her. That night at bed time we realized that her spot was no where to be found. We decided to make up signs to post around town, looking for lost puppy.

The next day we found Spot. He had been hiding in her homeschooling cupboard.

Yesterdays walk was to go around to all the stores and take down all the signs!

Spicy Food is a little too Spicy

Mommy made a new dish for dinner, and found that the 1/8th Teaspoon of Pepper flakes were not enough. So she placed the bottle on the table for everyone to use if they wanted it Spicier.

Adrian took the bottle, and dumped 1/2 of it on his plate, and then tried to eat it. He might not have found it funny, but we couldn't help but laugh when we saw his plate! The whole top corner was thick with pepper flakes! Eat plain rice, and drink lots of water!
