Uncle James is getting Married!

Uncle James proposed to his girl friend on her graduation day!

Janey Carter and James Moore have not yet set their date, but are planning to marry within the year.

She currently lives with her parents on a farm outside Del Bonita, about 45 minutes south of Magrath. She also owns and sells cows.

James is working at Canadian Security Systems, here is Magrath, and is hoping to find a home for them to live in here. She would be 45 minutes from her parents, and only 30 minutes from the college or university in Lethbridge.

Congratulations to the two of them. We will let you know when the date it set!

Daddy's 30 NOW!

Daddy had his 30th Birthday. He was surprised to recieve the 10 inch sliding chop saw with lazer. Thanks to his parents. Now he will be able to do the crown molding a trim in the house, and make the bunk beds for the kids.

It was nice to have everyone fit at the same table. Nana, Grandpa, and Auntie Mandy all had a spot to sit.

Daddy blew out the candles on a chocolate cake that Mandy brought over, but ate his favourate, carrot cake. He was so lucky to have a cake at all.

He thought because Mommy had been sick that he wasn't going to have a cake, so he actually started making his own.

Unfortunitly Mommy wasn't feeling up to going to Lethbridge before his birthday, that she didn't even have a gift for him.

But the girls had some gifts that they were happy to show off!!

Sorry Daddy! but we all still love you!!
Happy Birthday

Out goes the carpet

We again invit some friends over, and they help us take out the carpet. We had to move the furniture all around, but its done and gone. Auntie Mandy also came by and helped.

Here Kenny is again helping. He helped roll up the carpet, and then helped drag the foam out to the trailer. The girls were in bed and needed to stay out of the rooms till we got all the tack strips up.

Highland Dancing is so much fun!

Sarah had her recital for her highland dance. She did three dances and then posed for photo's.

She did an amazing job for a first year.

Courtney and Nicole can't wait until they are also old enough to do highland dance too.

Brownies and Sparks Finished for the Year

Mommy was too sick to go see the girls get all their badges from Sparks and Brownies.

Daddy took them and took lots of pictures.

He even let them play in the park and enjoy the free time. Courtney and Nicole are enjoying the swings.

Courtney is showing off her treats and her new sash with her 5 badges on it. It looks really good, and it is wonderful to see all the hard work she has done this year.

Sarah poses for the camera with a certificate covered in her new badges. She also worked hard this year, and earned lots of badges while working on her homeschooling.

Mommy later ironed them on a took a picture of her sash. She even has a few on the back.

Both girls did a wonderful job. They both are excited to stay in brownies and sparks again next year!

Mommy Sick Again

We start to destroy our house and then Mommy got really sick again.
Mommy was sick for Mothers day, and then it came back, even worse and faster.

One Tuesday morning Daddy headed off to work, and then Mommy felt really sick. She couldn't eat or drink anything, and felt horrible. She called our friends they came and took us all kids for the entire day. Another friend came and took mommy to the doctors. She was really sick, and the Baby was giving her lots of pains every five minutes. The doctor sent her to the hospital. She called Daddy home early, and then her friend, took her up the hospital. They put in a needle, that had to stay there for a whole week, and give her some medicine. The also checked the baby to make sure it was still ok.

Everyday we kids went to another house because Mommy was too sick to watch us, and Daddy wasn't able to stay home for the whole week. We were able to play with friends all week, and then Daddy would come get us at supper time. We even had a few friends bring supper to us so we didn't have to worry about cooking too.

One night Mommy had to go the hospital in the middle on the night because she was so sick and couldn't eat or drink anything. She couldn't even sip from a straw, or take any pills to make her feel better. Auntie Mandy came to stay with us while she and daddy went.

On Saturday was her last day of medicine at the hospital. Mommy was just starting to eat a few things. She ate toast , and some soup, and a couple of glasses of water that day!

We were so happy that she was feeling better and we didn't have to go visit friends anymore. Friends are fun, but we missed Mommy all day! She had to take medicine for another 10 days, but we were home, and Mommy was getting better, and we were thankful to all the friends that helped us during that week!! We were also happy that the baby was OK, and decided not to come early.

We decided to do some demolition in our house to make more space. Ken started by taking out all the live wiring. Including the 2nd light switch for the dining room, and the kitchen. He also removed an outlet, and phone jack.
Kenny helped Daddy remove one part of the wall that leads to the bathroom and bedrooms.
The Thomson Family came over to eat supper and help take this entire wall down. Brother Thomson helped with the removal of the cabinets, and then the kids took over with hammers to remove all the drywall. Then down came the studs.

This is now the view from our bedroom into the kitchen. The cabinets will all go back on the wall at the left side of this picture. It has opened an amazing amount of space and now we can all eat in the kitchen (including the new baby when it comes), and have enough room for company to eat with the family too!!

Stay tuned for more pictures as we progress.
