Courtneys now SIX!

"I got a new poncho and one for my doll, and a necklace. I had a crown cake with M&M's and fondant icing. Auntie Mandy's present was a pinnata, with lot and lots of candys and toy inside. There is still some left. We all had fun. It was the best birthday ever."

Heart Attack

Daddy was gone all day yesterday to do training in Calgary.

The kids awoke with him already gone, and missed him all day.
We decided to do some cleaning, and then played outside for a while. Sarah worked on a booklet for a while.

Supper time came, and Courtney helped make Zucchini Parmensan. She loves to cook.

We ate dinner, then the girls decide it was time to craft. They all made a few hearts, or circles(Nicole), colored and cut them out, and taped them all over the house to tell Daddy they loved him, and missed him.

Daddy finally arrived home after the girls were tucked in, and Kenny was already asleep. He missed seeing Daddy the whole day.

Miss ya Daddy! We love you very much!

Great Grandma Comes to Visit!

We were so excited to have Great Grandma Spiers come to visit our place for the first time in March!

She stayed for one week, and we all loved all the visiting. The kids enjoyed her company, and the excuse to be able to craft for someone!

She had an operation and had pins placed in her feet. Just before leaving to come out here a pin turned around and came through the bottom of her foot. Because of this she spent lots of time sitting and visiting!

We all enjoyed her visit so much we can't wait till she comes out this way again!!!

Paper Airplane Fun!

The kids and daddy decided to try out some paper airplanes. We are discussing flight for home school, and this was the perfect way to spend a raining Saturday afternoon.

Kenny even joined the action with his paper ball that he was throwing around. Nicole used the airplane Daddy made, Courtney worked hard at flying her straight, and Sarah was excited to try a few different designs.

The even made tickets for an Air show!

Kenny wants to skate too!!

Kenny likes shoes and will try on any pair he can find. But there was one pair that were a little harder to get on!

Once his foot was in Sarah's rollerblades, it was even harder to stand up!

Good try Kenny, but maybe when you bigger you'll have better luck and hopefully not with a pink pair!

Happy Belated Birthday Nicole!

Nicole was looking forward for her fourth birthday!

She had a great time, opening presents from the family, on Mommy and Daddy's bed. She opened new outfits, cats that dance, and a blow up "Dora the Explorer" bed for her to enjoy at campouts and bedroom parties.

She wanted a friend birthday party, so she invited her friends Jessie Thomson, and Desanna Holthe to come. They had fun playing games, eating treats, and making butterfly crafts.

Make a wish and blow out the candles on your butterfly birthday cake!

They Finished HIGH SCHOOL!!!

We are so proud of our Daddy and Auntie Mandy! They both decided to complete their grade 12. They bought the books, and spent six weeks working very very hard to complete a refresher course. They then wrote the exam, and both passed.

Ken passed with flying colours!! Each subject is marked out of 800. Included is the % rank - it is the % of people out of 100 who achieved a passing mark equal or lower then Kens.

Language Arts, Reading - 800 - 99%
Language Arts, Writing - 650 - 88%
Mathematics - 570 - 75%
Science - 680 - 99%
Social Studies - 620 - 83%

We are all so happy to see them both do such a good job, we even decided to celebrate with an old fashioned surprise party complete with friends, family, food, and cake! We had about 35 people drop in and wish the two of the best of luck, and show their support!

Rearranging

I decided it was time to spring clean and re-arrange the office. Currently we have the computer desk, and filling cabinets in the living room, and the shelves with all our books in the dining room. I decided that the bookshelves need to be moved, if we are taking that wall out to the kitchen, so the only place left for them is the office.

Here is a picture of how the office looks after I moved it around. Where the pictures and lamp are, we will put the bookshelves, and move the pictures to the other wall. I like it this way so far, because I can work on the computer and look into the living room, dining room , and even out the window to keep an eye on the kids.

What do you think??

Finally a POST!

Finally, I am getting back to it!. Its been a busy and not so busy few months! I have been not feeling the greatest, and haven't been on the computer much. I am just getting slowly back into the swing of things, so hopefully I will be more consistent again!

I've been very sore with this pregnancy, and have spent a lot of time lying down, and even sitting up was difficult, but I am starting to get a few more things done, and move around more. I do something, then sit back and rest for a bit, and then do a bit more.

I am excited that we have decide to expand our kitchen into the dining room. Currently we are all fitting just barely in the kitchen for meals, but with this newest addition on the way, we are thinking more space is needed for us to enjoy meals together. So we are removing a wall between the current kitchen and dining room, and will repaint, and put new flooring down. Ken is also working hard on fixing the basement to make sure we get all the bounce out of the floor as possible before we install the laminate.

The girls have been working hard on their home schooling and Courtney has finished all her Kindergarten phonics, and math. She is ready to start grade 1 and is actually looking forward to it! She is now riding Sarah's old two wheeler! She does an amazing job of understanding sign language, and can remember them very well. She is growing by leaps and bounds.

Sarah is finished her grade three phonics, and is working hard on finishing her grade two math before the end of the year. We are right on track with your other subjects, and are actually spending spring break doing unit studies. We've talked about friends, feelings, Japan, and still need to talk about flight. We are planning a unit on Australia, and that should finish off our grade two curriculum.

Nicole has graduated to a two wheeler bike with training wheels! She loves that is goes much faster then her tricycle, and feels like a big girl. She also enjoys unit study with us, and is working on memorizing her articles of faith, and several songs using sign language. She is the one in our house to make everyone laugh and have fun!

Kenny is growing so big too. He is almost 20 months old now and is getting more vocal. He says a few words, but also communicates lots with sign language. He loves his dad, and will look for daddy come the late afternoon, waiting for him to come home from work.

Better go, I'll post more later... Hopefully!!
