Summer is flying BY!

We had had such a busy summer this year! Visitors coming, swimming lessons, and next week we are taking some vacation time to go site seeing!

I am sorry to all you that are visiting the site often o see the updates. I hope to be more regular with posting our adventures in September, when we get into the school routine again!

Here are a few pictures.

Vulcun

This is a Visitors Center in the community of VULCUN. It looks like a space ship and is filled with anything imaginable from StarTrek.

This is Courtney, Kenny and Sarah. Posted by Picasa

Daddy had attempted to climb Chief Mountain this summer.

It is a very old mountain, that was here before the Rockies. When they formed, they came up and rolled this mountain over. So this Mountain is actually upside down. This is a holy place for the Indians still today. Unfortunately, it is also falling apart, and it had a massive piece slide off again this winter.

This is the last trip to climb it, because it has become so unstable. Posted by Picasa

I'm planning on climbing this???

Andrew stops and looks up the mountain, this is shale and very slippery. One foot forward, and slide two feet backward. Posted by Picasa

How beautiful!

This is the Japanese Gardens in Lethbridge. It is beautiful sight. There is very little color, so that is relaxing, and your eyes do not want to jump around.

We had the opportunity to go into the building a hear about the Japanese culture. We are looking forward to learning more in home schooling this year! Posted by Picasa

Birds of Prey Center

Sarah is given a hand, and told how to hold this little owl. Posted by Picasa

Mommy holds a very heavy owl! Posted by Picasa

We are taking a moment at the Birds of Prey Center to feed the "CRAZY" ducks.

The girls are on the picnic table, out of fear. But the end, Sarah was running with them and trying to herd them places. Posted by Picasa

Bad Lands

These are the BAD LANDS. They are called this because you can't grow anything here, or raise cattle. They are also very difficult to cross. (Imagine a horse and Wagon).

We are walking around the trail enjoying the strange view. Posted by Picasa

Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs!

We also took a trip to the Royal Tyrrall Dinosaur Museum. Here is the Albertasaurs attacking another dinosaur. Posted by Picasa

Writing On Stone Park

This is on a trip to Writing on Stone Park.

These are Hoodoo's. Large sand pillars, that can be quite high. They have some pictures sketched into them from the Indians.

Mom was scared to death here. This place is a protected park, for the Praire Rattlesnake! AHH!!.
