How many of us actually noticed? With the kids around the house, we were reminded of the activities done in the past years and couldn't get away with doing nothing.
Auntie Mandy came over the day before and painted our window with "Kiss Me, I'm Irish!".
We all made sure to dress in green. We had been told by a number of people out here, if your not wearing green, people can give you a pinch! Daddy, decided to be safe, he would wear a safety pin with a few green beads, to avoid the pinches!
We had green pancakes for lunch, and green french toast for supper. Courtney kept asking for green orange juice, but we avoided that this year. We did make green shortbread cookies, with almonds, and shared some with the Lowry Family down the street.

Food and Talents!

For a homeschooling unit, we studied Nutrition, Rest, exercise, and Fun. So, to complete our unit we invited another family over to share a meal and participate in a little talent show!
Courtney, and Nicole helped Mom put all the food we needed into two big pots, Carrots, Celery, tomatoes, Barley, Hamburger, Noodles etc. They made the best Hamburger Barley Soup! Then we made two loaves of Irish Soda Bread.
The Lowry Family arrived, and the 15 of us spread ourselves over 3 tables. Unfortunately I never counted spoons before they came, and we ended up using baby spoons. I guess we need to get a few more spoons before we do that again.!
After Dinner, we showed off our talents. We had several piano players, some jokes, stories, singing, tumbles, and even some crocheting. The girls even put on a short play about the "Two Billy Goats Gruff, and One Troll".
After the Lowry's left, the house felt so empty. It was a wonderful evening and a great way to learn and share our talents with one another.

Nicole had her third Birthday on February 17th.
" I had a lion cake. It was yellow. Everything on it. Got Pretty poncho, and my books with my Dora with a holder thing, Its my presents for my birthday. Lots of presents. A blowy pencil thing that broke. I new dress, but not a coat."
She had a great birthday, but of course, she does miss all those that can't come!

First Teeth!

We are pleased to annouce at six months, the arrival of our first two teeth! They both came in at the bottom, at the same time, and two months earlier then the girls. He has been drooling, and sleeping a lot, but otherwise seems fine!
We are also sitting up, rolling, playing and giving kisses. He loves to be thrown up into the air, and spends lots of time watching the girls. He is still very upset if Mom leaves the room, but we are getting better. No question, Kenny's a Mommy's Boy!

Colds, Coughs, and the Sniffles
Our Family seems to be getting its fair share of coughs, colds, and sniffles this past few weeks. At some point or other, everyone has had a touch of the fever has been around.
Courtney and Nicole are both coughing, and Daddy is Constantly reminding them not to couch on people or their food. Yuck! For the past two days Mommy's voice keeps coming and going, and Little Kenny's cry is sounding horse.
I hope we are almost done with all this sickness stuff!!!!

Bath Time is Fun

The kids love to swim, but the best place for swimming in the winter is our own bathtub! We have a few bath lovers!

Sparks for Sarah

Sarah has joined Sparks this year. Its an organization, that is part of Girl Guides. She is proud to be a spark, and has already earned herself three badges! One was for going on a campout! Courtney can't wait till next year, so that she to can go to Sparks!

Funny things our Kids say!
One morning I was trying to watch a Sign Language Video. I was trying hard to watch the TV, because there is no sound with these tapes.
Courtney wakes up and comes into the Living Room. For a while she was content to watch quietly for a while, then decided she wanted to talk. I tried hard to pay attention, but was also trying to keep one eye on the Sign Language. After about the 10th question, I politely ask her if she could wait a minute to talk to me, because I was having trouble looking at her, and the tape at the same time.
Courtney was quick to say...."But mom, you can see two things at the same time. You have eyes at the back of your head, Remember!"

Valentines Day!

The kids woke up this morning to find a number a special goodies on the table from many of thier Grandparents; a number of different chocolates, water globes, and valentine pencils. They were so surprised and quickly started in on the treats! Everyone including Kenny had something special!
In one morning, all the treats were gone. Mommy was glad, this way there is ONE FULL DAY of sugar high, instead of an entire week! (As hard as it was to deal with them at day!)
After supper we broke tradition, and decided not to bake a cake this time. Instead we sat together an watched a movie, ate popcorn and had a wonderful time together.
