No Need for a Dentist!

Sarah has lost her FIRST TOOTH!

It has been loose for some time, but tonight she lost it while eating a piece of ham. She thought she had found a bone in it, and was surprised to find it was a tooth!

She is hoping for a visit from the tooth fairy! rumor has it that the going rate is a looney.

She is very excited with the realization that her top tooth is also loose. How big we are growing!

Winter Wonderland

We are so excited, we might actually have a white Christmas!!! We have NEVER had a white Christmas here since we moved to Alberta. This is a picture of Early this month BEFORE a Chinook came in and melted most of it away. (A Chinook is a warm wind, that often melts all our snow away several times each winter.) It is a taken out our back door, across the deck looking at Ken's garage.

Ward Christmas Party

Mommy and Daddy were very involved in putting on our Ward Christmas Party this year! It was a lot of work, and tons of stress, but it turned out very good.

We did something a little different this year. We brought our ward to Bethlehem.

We had about 200 people come almost all dressed in Biblical attire. Daddy built all the stalls in the town. Each family was asked to bring a blanket, to sit on, and was given a bag on money to visit the town.

Each family went booth to booth, and purchased goods for their family. We received a candle at the synague, a Dredel at Toys, wooden stars to decorate at the woodshop, apples and oranges at the fruit stand, stuffed pitas at the bakery, and soup at the soup kitchen, and at the Inn we could get water, and large plates of goodies. We even had a tailor for those who were in need of biblical clothes.

We visited, ate, and had lots of fun. We watched a small program, perfect for us kids, and then cleaned up to come home. It was a very busy night, because Mommy was so busy helping, Daddy had to do everything with us kids. But it was still fun!

You can see Grandpa Moore, and Nana Moore sitting in chairs, and Courtney, Nicole and Kenny, with Daddy. Sarah is behind the other people, and Mommy is taking the picture.

Three of us are now official Girl Guide members.

Sarah is a brownie. She had to sign the brownie song, dance around the pond, and say her promise. Mommy is shaking her hand and welcoming her to brownies. "I Promise to do my best, be true to myself, my god, and Canada, I will help other people and keep the Brownie law."

Courtney is a Spark. She also sang her song, and said the spark promise. In few years she will also move up to Brownies with Mommy. "I Promise to share and be a friend."
Mommy was made an official leader and received her Owl pin. She is now know as "Tawney Owl"!

Great job guys, and hope you have lots of fun in the year to come!

Sarah's Birthday Party

Sarah invited two girls over for her party Friday afternoon. School is finished at 1:00 of Fridays, so it a great day for a Birthday Party.

We decided on a Christmas theme party. So we decorated our Christmas Tree, made colored chocolate Christmas Trees and Snowman. They had a great time. Sarah even had a snowman cake from off the Kraft Canada web site. Was it ever easy! Chocolate pudding, cookies, and Whipped topping. Simple but tasted great.

He received lots of craft projects, and even a little newborn puppy that has to be petted to stay awake. She had a great time. Happy birthday Sarah, Your now 7.

Halloween was fun for whole Family!

We had a wonderful Halloween this year. We spent the day carving pumpkins, and getting ready. Courtney was a dinosaur, Nicole a strawberry ice cream cone, Kenny was a gift wrap bag, Sarah was a box of Crayons, Mommy a cat, Daddy a soldier (complete with Airsoft gun), and Auntie Mandy was a devil.
It was a windy night, but as a family , we went out knocking on doors. Mandy stayed at our house to give out the candy. We gave up after about 30 minutes, and decided to drive to Nana and Grandpa Moores.
We saw so many cars driving and droping off people last night. Most people drive from house to house here, giving the kids a break from walking from house to house, and making sure you hit all the houses of people you know.
Our family had a great time, and now have tons of candy to eat! Yumm!!

Thanksgiving Family Dinner

For Thanksgiving Sunday, our family went to Grandpa and Nana Moores House. It was a full table! Great-Grandma Moore was there, and Auntie Mandy, Uncle James, Nana and Grandpa (of Course), and then all of us. For a total of 11 People!

We ate turkey, cranberries, dressing, potatoes and vegetables. It was delicious! We also had homemade pumpkin pie Auntie Mandy made! Of Course mommy brought a very rich Chocolate Torte, and Apple Crisp. It was great to be together!

Holiday Monday we spent outside picking from the garden. We dug up tons of carrots, (to dehydrate), beets (to pickle), and potatoes ( to eat!). Next year we are going to build a fence around the garden to keep the dog out. She loved digging up the beets too!

It was great to do the family thing! I hope all of you enjoyed your thanksgiving too!

Busy Busy Starting Again!

We have started back into our school year. It has been a very busy month. We are again homeschooling, and attending lots of activities!

Sarah is in grade two this year. She is doing well, and is very involved! She has Brownies on Mondays, Highland Dance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays is Library, Thursday is Sign Language class, and Saturdays is Piano lessons! Only Friday is empty, and mommy wants to keep it that way!

Courtney is in kindergarten this year. She is also doing well, and can already read and count very high! She is in Sparks on Monday nights, Library Wednesdays, and Sign class on Thursdays. She has a great memory for Sign Languge and knows MORE THEN 102 words!

Nicole also goes to Library and Sign with us. She is helping mommy teach Courtney her letters, and is loving to play with the dog! She now has glasses too!

Kenny is just over one and running everywhere! He doesn't have much to say, but I'm sure that will come in time. He does Sign "More" & "Food" and we are working on thirsty and clean.

Daddy is busy working lots. He is busy, but trying to get home with the family. He likes to play Airsoft in the dark, and is thinking of putting his garage to some use.

Mommy is trying to get back into the Pampered Chef. She is also working on becoming an official "Brownie Owl" (Leader). She has loved Sign class and is always trying to teach it to Daddy!

We are getting busy, but we are all happy (most of the time)!

Vulcun

This is a Visitors Center in the community of VULCUN. It looks like a space ship and is filled with anything imaginable from StarTrek.

This is Courtney, Kenny and Sarah. Posted by Picasa

Daddy had attempted to climb Chief Mountain this summer.

It is a very old mountain, that was here before the Rockies. When they formed, they came up and rolled this mountain over. So this Mountain is actually upside down. This is a holy place for the Indians still today. Unfortunately, it is also falling apart, and it had a massive piece slide off again this winter.

This is the last trip to climb it, because it has become so unstable. Posted by Picasa

I'm planning on climbing this???

Andrew stops and looks up the mountain, this is shale and very slippery. One foot forward, and slide two feet backward. Posted by Picasa
